Living in Ireland

Fun loving Ireland

Imagine the following picture. Incidentally you come to a halt in a small place, far from a large city and suddenly you notice that there is great party there, much greater than the town is. There’s no calendar holiday, not even a Bank Holiday. Of course, you will think that it is a wedding party and you will be wrong again. Most likely, it can be local musicians who are amusing people just without any reason right near the pub. And be sure, the people are having a tremendous time; they are singing along the musicians and maybe even dancing.

And this is the very common picture for Ireland, it can be found much more often that you even can imagine. And I will prove it by my own example. By a twist of fate I was in a small town in County Kildare. It was a middle of a grey day, from the side of a large local hotel there was heard live jazz music. I thought that there were stranger American musicians performing their music. But having come nearer to the hotel I could smell smoke of barbeque. What I saw then surpassed all my expectations. Not some simple meat dishes but a whole really big young pig was fried on open fire. The young cook, who turned out to be the chef of the restaurant, was dressing the pig for everybody at a moderate charge. A jazz band playing music not far from the place gave to the picture atmosphere of usual resort town, though that place was at a distance of 60 kilometers from the Irish Sea.

When I asked what the fest was, the reply proved my thoughts that Irish people are people of fest as it was a usual Barbeque party. The other thing that astonished me was the fact that I could not see any children near the place. When I wondered about them I was surprised even more. As I found out, the hotel arranged for children games one of its banquet halls. I watched the hall specially. It was a quite large hall having plenty of entertainment for children of all ages. All that children could wish was there: Bouncy Castle, table games and different play stations. In general, parents had only two concerns: to have a nice time and not to forget to take their children back after the fun time. It means that for parents it is a double fest.

So, don’t be surprised if somewhere if Ireland country you see something like this. Irish people know how to make a merry time and are experts in it.

Here is an example of the good humor of the Irish's.

An Irishman's Philosophy: "There are only two things to worry about either you are well or you are sick.

If you are well, then there is nothing to worry about.

But if you are sick, there are two things to worry about, either you will get well or you will die.

If you get well, there is nothing to worry about.

If you die, there are only two things to worry about, either you will go to heaven or hell.

If you go to heaven there is nothing to worry about.

But if you go to hell, you'll be so damn busy shaking hands with friends you won't have time to worry! WHY WORRY" !
