Living in Ireland

Banners Broker and Irishman’s attitude towards life

Talking about life in Ireland we rarely talk about the economic situation in this country. Today we want to do just that. Talking about this will help you, our reader, understand Ireland and the Irish people just that bit better. After all, the ‘Celtic Tiger’ phenomena didn’t just happen all by itself; and even now, despite the economic crisis, most Irish people have a fairly high standard of living, compared to people from other countries.

Probably the most surprising thing about Ireland is that all the things this country has achieved, it did so without the help of natural resources, and in particular, arable land. Even fishing in coastal regions is generally kept to a minimum. So why is Ireland, a country with a population of only 4.5 billion people, so respected by people from around the world?

The answer is clear. This country’s main source of wealth is the people who managed to survive the ‘Great Famine’ that happened in Ireland during the mid nineteenth century, the poverty during the mid twentieth century and then managed to gain popularity around the world with the help of world-famous Irishmen. Statistically, one in four American presidents have Irish roots. This also helped the Irish people to get recognition from foreign countries around the world.

Even America’s current president, Barack Obama, has Irish roots. This he admitted himself, and during his visit to Ireland in December 2011 he visited the village where his ancestors used to live.

An event we recently attended clearly showed that the Irish people haven’t given up hope despite the economic crisis. This event was the world tour and conference of the Canadian company Banners Broker.

It is surprising for a rapidly expanding company having its first world tour to make a stop at the small island of Ireland. What has Ireland done to earn this sort of attention? On one hand, the answer may seem obscure, but on the other, it is fairly predictable; the answer is of course the Irish people.

Even though the Irish people have lost a lot of jobs during the recession, most of them do not wish to receive social welfare from the government and would rather find their own way of making money.

Ireland is one of the few European countries where the company Banners Broker has opened an office. Of course, the Irish have lots of experience working in the field of internet technologies, but they also have the desire to help themselves during this economic crisis.

Around 600 – 700 people attended this conference and about 70 – 80% of them were Irish. Of course, some people might say that this is obvious, since the conference took place in Ireland. And they are right. But their determined eyes had to be seen for one to truly understand how they were interested in what was happening around them.

For those people interested in using Banners Broker to help themselves out of the current recession, we will introduce you to this new company. Everything is brilliantly simple. This company acts as a sort of broker between advertisers and website owners. It rents room for banners on various websites and then sells these places to advertisers.

Everyone is left happy because everyone is left working within their own professional business. Website owners get to expand and promote their sites, advertisers make money from advertising their companies and Banners Broker makes money by being a kind of mediator between them.

It is easier for both website owners and advertisers to be working with one mutual partner, in this case Banners Broker, than to constantly be on the prowl for advertisers or advertising opportunities, respectively. This idea has proved so popular that Banners Broker has grown from just its two founders to 265 thousand people in two years!

The role of an affiliate (something you can be), is to provide Banners Broker with a steady financial income that will allow the company to rent the places where advertisers will pay to put their banners. In fact, the longer the space for a banner is rented out, the cheaper that space becomes (original wholesale), and the space is then sold to the advertiser as a retail product, because said spaces are sold daily.

The company Banners Broker even works with the advertisers of the small business who want to advertise their product or service to their little town, so those people that want to advertise with Banners Broker can do so without fear of being rejected.

As a result, the end results are very beneficial for all parties involved. And given that the annual market for online advertising is estimated to be around 500 billion dollars, you can imagine how profitable it is working in online advertisement.

So here’s a fine example of how the Irish, after seeing a chance to earn money in the company Banners Broker, jumped on the opportunity with great determination instead of whining about how hard life is for them during the recession. This is a perfect example of a typical Irishman’s attitude towards life in these troubling times.
